Spatially Resolved Temperature Measurements during Condensation in Presence of a Non‐Condensable Gas

چکیده

Axial temperature profiles of the vapor phase can provide valuable indication condensation process along heat transfer path and highlight impact non-condensable gases on a unit's performance. The local measurements at moderate vacuum conditions for binary mixture are presented alongside implementation assessment optical sensors in process. results show good depiction characteristic behavior during relation between temperature, partial pressure mole fractions shown.

Spatially resolved temperature measurements of electrically heated carbon nanotubes.

Spatially resolved Raman spectra of individual pristine suspended carbon nanotubes are observed under electrical heating. The Raman G+ and G- bands show unequal temperature profiles. The preferential heating is more pronounced in short nanotubes (2 microm) than in long nanotubes (5 microm). These results are understood in terms of the decay and thermalization of nonequilibrium phonons, revealin...

Entropy generation in condensation in the presence of high concentrations of noncondensable gases

The physical mechanisms of entropy generation in a condenser with high fractions of noncondensable gases are examined using scaling and boundary layer techniques, with the aim of defining a criterion for minimum entropy generation rate that is useful in engineering analyses. This process is particularly relevant in humidification-dehumidification desalination systems, where minimizing entropy g...

Spatially Resolved Strain Measurements on Micro Moulds

The strain distribution in surface treated Toolox 44 steel was investigated using synchrotron Xray diffraction. Surface treatment involved a sequential application of grinding, micro milling and abrasive micro peening processes. The micro-features created at the milled surfaces were studied using a high lateral resolution CCD based Material X-ray Imaging (MAXIM) detector. Results from the strai...

Spatially resolved measurements of ion heating during impulsive reconnection in the Madison Symmetric Torus.

The impurity ion temperature evolution has been measured during three types of impulsive reconnection events in the Madison Symmetric Torus reversed field pinch. During an edge reconnection event, the drop in stored magnetic energy is small and ion heating is observed to be limited to the outer half of the plasma. Conversely, during a global reconnection event the drop in stored magnetic energy...
